Chi Gong

Chi Gong (also Qi Gong) is an old movement system derived from Taoism. Chi Gong means freely interpreted breath or reloading exercises, or as well and simply “the method”. The first written instructions are about 3000 years old and can be read in “The Yellow Emperor’s Classic on Internal Medicine”. Different kinds of style have been developed over the years. So there exist several hundred different Chi Gong-Styles nowadays.

The regular rhythm, which is applied in Chi Gong, helps us to breathe better and to use our whole body. Thereby the muscles are being loosened and stress disappears. The inner organs can relax and work towards self-healing. Well-being and health are noticeably improving and inner calmness can spread.

Chi Gong Shibashi

Shibashi is especially known and popular in China, Central Asia, Thailand and the Philippines, but is spreading more and more also in Europe, among others in Switzerland.

Shibashi Chi Gong consists of 18 different exercises. Each sequence of exercises is repeated 6-9 times, but can also be performed individually or longer for prevention and/or an illness. As is customary in the East, each exercise has a poetic name. Stimulated by the different movements, each exercise has a positive effect on the different organs, organ systems and/or illnesses.

  • “Turn round to look at the moon”: Is good for spleen, lumbar muscles as well as degradation of fat.
  • “Dancing rainbow”: healing to backaches and kidney problems
  • “Pushing the waves to bring the flood”: against hepatitis, lung diseases and insomnia
  • “Flying wild goose”: against stress and dizziness
  • “Moving wheel”: healing to arthritis and fibromyalgia

Furthermore, the whole process has a positive influence on the psychological and physical balance.

Chi Gong of Wisdom

Wisdom Chi Gong comes from China and consists of 3 main exercises that themselves consist of 29 movements. The feet are closed during the whole sequence. In contrast to Shibashi, you guide and integrate Chi with the hands to different parts of the body. Thus Chi, the universal energy, flows in each cell and builds up the body.

Other Chi Gong-Styles

As for the other styles, we especially perform the exercises with regard to health aspects. Stimulating the energy flow in the body and keeping it there, does not only have a healing effect but is also preventive. Among these exercises are e.g. the energizing exercises for the spine column and the like.

Chinese Chi Gong contains healing techniques to be applied on oneself or on others. Thereby blockades in the body get first loosened and then removed, and afterwards healing Chi is transmitted. The student learns in courses how to use these healing energies.
